Refreshing and Renewing

          Just as construction begins on new merchant spaces at Ohio Valley Mall, other parts of the shopping complex are about to get a refreshing upgrade as well. Work begins in early July to install new lighting, flooring, wall finishes, painting, entrances and furnishings and landscaping inside and outside the mall.  Virtually all the interior work will take place in the overnight hours, allowing all mall merchants to operate without any disruption.

            New carpeting will be installed throughout the concourses along with new ceramic tile in entryways and court areas.  Energy-efficient lighting fixtures will brighten the interior.  Inside, new landscaping décor will also be added, along with revamped furniture in the Food Court. 

            Paving, sealcoating and striping will take place in sections of the parking fields throughout the summer.  This entire renovation project will be completed by October 1.

            The renovation will be integrated into work now underway that is transforming the mall property in major ways.  A new Dunham’s Sports store is rapidly taking shape. It will open its doors in the latter half of 2019 in a 45,000 square foot space attached to the west concourse of the mall.  In late July, construction will begin on a new Hampton Inn & Suites just across from Dunham’s.  The four-story hotel will offer 113 tasteful and spacious guest rooms and suites when it opens in 2020.  To better accommodate hotel guests, a new entrance to the mall concourse will be constructed near the new Dunham’s store.
