Kidz Zone Debuts at Ohio Valley Mall

Ohio Valley Mall is teaming up with one of region’s preeminent health care providers to introduce a new amenity for mall visitors:  Kidz Zone, sponsored by Ohio Valley Medical Center and East Ohio Regional Hospital (OVMC/EORH), your local, community hospitals. This new soft-play area is a welcome respite for families with young children. Located in the main entrance concourse of the mall, Kidz Zone officially debuted with a Grand Opening Celebration Dec. 20 and 21.  A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place Saturday the 20th at noon. The celebration continues through the weekend, with entertainment and celebrity appearances.
Kidz Zone is an enclosed area where young children (under 42 inches in height) will be able to frolic on soft, colorful play elements, while parents and caregivers get to relax on integral seating.  The creative design of Kidz Zone portrays the local community, vital services provided by OVMC/EORH, healthy living and a surprise or two. It will be open during regular mall hours throughout the year.

As part of the Grand Opening Celebration, fans of the Disney Television series Liv & Maddie  have the chance to meet Joey Bragg and Audrey Whitby. Bragg portrays Liv and Maddie’s brother, Joey Rooney. Whitby has a recurring role
as Joey’s girlfriend, Audrey.  She also plays Cherry on the Nickelodeon series, The Thundermans.  In real life, Bragg and Whitby are a real, dating couple.  They are meeting their fans and sign autographs on Saturday (one per fan, please) in the Macy’s Court, 12:30 to 3:30 PM.
Also on Saturday, Miss Tea Cup is offering free face-painting 10:30 AM - 4 PM.  She’ll be back on Sunday, Noon – 4 PM.  Jingles the Clown will create balloon animals for the children 1 – 4 PM on Saturday and Noon – 4 PM on Sunday.
Fans of the Disney Junior TV series Ella the Elephant will get to meet her on Sunday.  The “little elephant with the big imagination” will perform in the Macy’s court at noon, 1:30 PM, 3 PM and 4:30 PM.
