A day for the champions

The sporting fields of fall are now under winter’s chill.  Yet two teams from Wheeling Park High School are still basking in the warm glow of state championships.  The girls soccer team captured first place in Class AAA in November, with a 1-0 victory over Parkersburg South.  A month earlier, the Wheeling Park golf team beat George Washington 486-489, winning its sixth state title. 

Ohio Valley Mall will honor these student athletes with a victory rally on Thursday, February 11.  The event will take place at 3pm in the mall’s Center Court.  At that time, the Cafaro Foundation will present a donation to Wheeling Park High School.
